Super Junior

SM Entertainment

Debuting in 2005 under SM Entertainment as a large-scale "rotational" group, Super Junior pioneered the concept of a multifaceted idol unit with fluid sub-groups. Their breakthrough hit "Sorry, Sorry" in 2009 became a cultural phenomenon, defining the Hallyu wave's second generation with its iconic choreography and sophisticated electropop sound. This era cemented their status, leading to a prolific discography that expertly navigated vibrant dance-pop, energetic electronic tracks, and powerful ballads across albums like "Mr. Simple" and "Devil." Their identity is built on this musical versatility, matched by a dynamic performance style renowned for precise, complex synchronization and engaging theatrical flair.

Beyond the stage, Super Junior cultivated one of K-pop's most enduring and globally recognized fandoms, E.L.F., fostering a profound two-way bond that has fueled their decades-long career. They matter as foundational pillars of the industry, proving the longevity and sustained relevance of idol groups through constant evolution and individual member activities in variety, acting, and music production. As respected sunbaes (seniors), their journey from trendy hitmakers to versatile entertainers and label CEOs has blazed a trail, demonstrating the potential for a boy group to become a lasting institution in the ever-changing landscape of K-pop.
